Waste Heat Boilers

RENTECH BOILER SYSTEMS offers a full range of custom-designed waste heat recovery boiler systems to meet the most demanding project requirements. RENTECH is known for its capabilities to provide custom-engineered solutions for the following applications. We offer a full range of boilers capable of producing up to 400,000 lb/hr steam with typical design pressures ranging from 150 to 1000 PSIG.

Watertube

  • Refinery and petrochemical processes
  • Chemical plant incineration
  • Hazardous waste and municipal solid waste incineration
  • Open bottom “A” type for solid-fuel burning systems
  • Design features to accommodate high cycling operation

Firetube Single Shell, Single Pass

The firetube single shell, single pass boiler is the simplest, lowest cost solution for sub-critical waste heat boiler applications.

  • Used when steam quality is not a primary concern
  • Design allows for small vapor space (limiting flexibility for handling rapid process condition changes)
  • Not recommended for waste flue gas streams with a high dew point temperature

Firetube Single Shell, Multi Pass

The firetube single shell, multi pass boiler is designed to be used with a furnace tube specified for high inlet temperature applications and when the space arrangement requires a smaller footprint.

  • Effective in sulfuric acid, sulfur condensers and reclaimer applications
  • Steam quality not a primary concern
  • Design allows for small vapor space (limiting flexibility for handling rapid process condition changes)
  • Not recommended for waste flue gas streams with a high dew point temperature

Firetube Process Gas Boilers

RENTECH has extensive experience in supplying these boilers for use in hydrogen reformer and hydrogen production systems that are commonly found in oil and gas, refining, and petrochemical plants.

  • Normally specified for higher steam and higher gas-side pressures
  • RENTECH possesses design expertise in selection of special materials depending upon service conditions
  • Steam drums can be remotely located
